The Slovak-Russian wedding of Valerie and Tomáš formed a nice cross-section of the traditions of individual cultures. Valerie and the beautiful habit of saying goodbye to the other women in the family in the form of letting the wreaths go down the river can be seen in this previous post. The whole wedding took place in the picturesque surroundings of Belianske Tatras, specifically in the village of Ždiar. There was also a horse-drawn carriage ride, a cable car ride to the ceremony, wedding dresses made with old Russian technique, the ceremony itself in the beautiful surroundings of Ždiar, folk dances and finally a wild party in the Medvedí Brloh premises. All this created a perfect wedding in a beautiful Tatra environment.
